Meet Katie

“Authenticity is the daily practice of letting go of who we think we’re supposed to be and embracing who we are.”

- Brene Brown

Katrina “Katie” Morgan received her B.S. in psychology from UMUC, and received her M.A. in Mental Health Counseling from Regent University. Her experiences as a military spouse, mother, sister, friend, and daughter shaped and informed her decision to pursue a career in therapy.

Katie is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with years of experience working with individuals struggling with trauma, depression, anxiety, anger, communication issues, and stress. She has experience with individual, family, and group therapy. Katie has worked with clients ranging in age from 3 to 60+ years old. She deeply connects with military veterans and families, due to her experiences as a military spouse.

Katie believes that people have more control and opportunities for choice than may be evident, and that self-awareness can be used to access and employ those choices, particularly regarding thoughts and emotions. Katie uses several therapeutic approaches in her practice, including psychoeducation, CBT, family systems, psychodynamics, and DBT tools. Katie works with her clients to determine the most effective approach to use while providing a safe, non-judgmental, and kind space for the process to unfold for Perspectives Anew to take root!
